Itachi Uchiha

Tony Tony Chopper

Tony Tony Chopper is the doctor of the Straw Hat Pirates. He is a reindeer that ate the Hito Hito no Mi and comes from Drum Island, which makes him the only member of the Straw Hat Pirate Crew who was born on the Grand Line. He is the sixth member of the crew and the fifth to join.

Appearance

Most of the time, Chopper is a toddler-sized human/reindeer hybrid, his devil fruit abilities allow him to change his appearance depending on the situation. Chopper's left antler has a metal plate wrapped around it at all times, from being broken in a fight when he was younger. The usual clothing he wears includes a pink, fuzzy top hat with a sideways medical cross (given to him by Hiluluk) and a purple pair of shorts. Chopper also has a remarkable feature that no other reindeer have, and that is a blue nose, while normal reindeers have black ones. As Oda's style evolved, Chopper has been given a more "chibi" appearance. This means that when in his Brain Point, Chopper has a larger head and eyes.

A running gag is that various characters in One Piece think Chopper is a tanuki (raccoon-dog, often simply translated as "raccoon") whilst in his Brain Point form. This is a play on the similar word "tonakai," the Japanese word for reindeer, from which the "Tony" in Chopper's name is derived. His heavy point form likewise is mistaken for a gorilla or an abominable snowman.

Lots of female characters, such as Porche, find Chopper very cute.

Oda has stated that he uses the color pink to represent Chopper, and (Oda was answering the questions as Chopper) for his smell, "how am I supposed to know?".

Personality

Chopper is naive and highly timid, often acting like a child because he doesn't know any better. In particular he is a coward at times like Usopp and Nami, his cowardice is mostly due to his childishness and overall lack of trust in his own fighting skills against the bigger foes (a contrast to Nami's self-survival based cowardice and Usopp's fear based cowardice). Chopper is more or less on a journey to define himself, seeing almost anyone on his team as a role model and in some cases, imitate their behavior, especially Usopp. He is an upright friend and companion who will try anything to overcome a task given by his team. He still has a feeling of distrust for humans from his youth and will often outright insult and claim that compliments don't make him happy to a human who compliments him while obviously being happy about it (he starts to smile and also dances a little). Chopper seems to be very forgiving of those close to him, for when Usopp wanted to rejoin the crew at the end of the CP9 arc, he called out to Luffy and Zoro, although they were ignoring him completely.

History

No Disease is Incurable

Chopper incorrectly concealing himself while spying on Nami.

When Chopper recognizes someone needs medical attention he often will start to panic and scream for a doctor, just to realize that he is one. He would rather run and hide than fight, but becomes more courageous when others are there to support him. He also has very high regards for his own profession of doctor. His dream is to become a doctor that can cure any illness, and he highly respected Dr. Hogback for the huge amount of people he had saved. When Hogback informed him of his work with zombies in order to revive the deceased, Chopper still held him in very high esteem, believing that healing the hearts of those touched by tragedy was the highest possible calling for a doctor. When he discovered that Hogback wasn't actually reviving the dead, but merely using their bodies as puppets, Chopper became furious and refused to acknowledge Hogback as a doctor anymore.

Another one of Chopper's habits is his reverse cartoon peek, where he stands behind a wall or a doorway and peeks at people, trying not to be seen by them. Unfortunately he's not hiding his body behind the wall, as a result his body is visible and only one half of his face is hidden.

A running gag is that Chopper will believe just about anything he hears, making him easy prey for Usopp's stories. He also seemed to believe Nami when she lied to Lola about being a man, even though the truth was very obvious.
Chopper was originally a reindeer with the slight oddity of a blue nose, which caused other reindeer to treat him as an outcast (always making him follow the herd from far back). However, when the young reindeer ate the Hito Hito no Mi, he was even more ostracized from his herd (and with the increase in intelligence granted by the fruit, now acutely aware of it) and struck out on his own. Unfortunately for Chopper, his attempts at communicating with the humans on Drum Island proved disastrous, he was shot by villagers who mistook him for the Abominable Snowman. Luckily, though, he was rescued by the quack Dr. Hiluluk (Hiriluk in the English version), who named him and took him in as his friend and 'assistant.' Although his deeds were of dubious medical value, Dr. Hiluluk became Chopper's role-model. Hiluluk taught Chopper his philosophy on life (that all diseases could be cured) and his strong faith in the Jolly Roger as a symbol of strength against all odds. The two went from house to house, administering their "cures" in a country where all doctors not sanctioned by King Wapol were banned.

When Hiluluk's health took a turn for the worse, Chopper found himself left out in the cold once again as the old man didn't want Chopper to watch him die. But once Chopper found out what was going on, he was determined to find something to cure his mentor, his one and only friend. He soon found what he was looking for: a special kind of mushroom with skull-and-crossbones prominently displayed in the medical book, unaware of what that sign meant medically due to Hiluluk's praising of pirates and the jolly roger. Remembering what he overheard by some villagers that a "certain" type of mushroom can heal every illness, Chopper steals Hiluluk's favorite medical book to find the miracle mushroom. Chopper's arduous journey was a success, even though he risked his life and suffered many injuries, such as a broken left horn.

Hiluluk overwhelmed with tears of gratitude, ate the mushroom to show his love and appreciation to Chopper, but Chopper would later find out from Dr. Kureha that he had given Dr. Hiluluk a fatal dose of poison. But Hiluluk was not to live much longer anyway. Declaring that he had a wonderful life (in the 4kids dub he declares he is a doctor), he committed suicide by blowing himself up outside of Drum Castle (before being killed by the poison, for Chopper's sake). As for Hiluluk's last wish, Dr. Kureha (the last remaining doctor not owned by King Wapol) took Chopper in and taught him 'real' medicine for the next 6 years. Chopper worked as hard as he could, in order to become a doctor like his idol, Hiluluk.[

Monkey D Luffy

Monkey D. Luffy (モンキー・D・ルフィ, Monkī D. Rufi?) is a pirate and the main protagonist of One Piece. He is the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates. He is the first member that makes up the crew. He is currently one of eleven pirates who have been referred to as "The Eleven Supernovas", having a bounty of 300,000,000. He has gathered up a reputation, even among the Three Great Powers, committing actions that were deemed dangerous by the World Government. Starting with the incident of Enies Lobby, Luffy has committed crimes against the World Government back to back in every major arc. This, in addition to his heritage, causes Sengoku to deem Luffy to be a "dangerous pirate".

Appearance

Luffy is renowned for wearing his trademark Straw Hat (from which he gets his nickname "Straw Hat Luffy") which was lent to him when he was young by the legendary pirate captain Red-Haired Shanks. He promised to give it back next time they meet. His outfit somewhat mimics Shanks' own outfit in that he wears short trousers (although his are much shorter than Shanks' because they are rolled up) and sandals. Luffy also wears a red vest and has a scar underneath his left eye (he got it in Chapter 1, to prove his courage to Shanks and his pirates) and short black hair. He is very short and also a bit scrawny, but underneath his shirt he has a surprisingly good physique with protruding abdomen muscles.

Luffy, for some reason, has the same outfit over most of the series, as opposed to the rest of the crew. Luffy may wear a different outfit to suit the climate of an island (like a winter coat on Drum Island or desert robes in Arabasta), but will switch back to his trademark vest and shorts after the adventures on that island are over.

Notably, He will wear his usual outfit in diffrent colors. For example, in Enies Lobby he wears black shorts because they had pockets in which he could carry meat, on the Thriller Bark Island he wears an orange vest and red shorts, and on the Sabaody Archipelago he wears a blue vest and dark blue shorts, In the most recent part of the anime (prior to the separation) Luffy has been shown wearing a greenish blue vest with red shorts and after the fight between Magellan and Luffy, Inazuma gave to him a yellow vest with a new pair of red shorts. He does, however, no matter where he is, wear his straw hat through absolutely everything, though at the start the hat was prone to getting knocked off his head easily forcing Luffy to either put it aside or have someone hold onto it during battles. Since then he has gotten a string strap for it, allowing the hat to hang from his neck during fights.

Eiichiro Oda has mentioned that Luffy mostly resembles a monkey (he sometimes even makes a monkey face).[5] According to Oda, Luffy is represented by the color red, and smells like meat.[6]
Personality

At first glance, Luffy does not appear to be very intelligent; his apparent lack of intelligence is the source of his brave attitude towards life.[7] Luffy can easily be amazed by the simplest things, such as hermit crabs, and can be confused by concepts such as that by digging a hole right next to another he may be unintentionally filling the other hole. He also has no knowledge of medicine, when Nami had a high fever he told her to eat cold food and later tried to make Zoro better (after battling Kuma) by pouring Sake onto him because Zoro likes sake. When attempting to think up a plan to get off of Amazon Lily, while he managed to make some logical sense of where to look, he is seen to strain himself and notes that he is going to feel sick from too much thinking.[8] His simple mind actually saved himself against Hancock's powers because he mistook it for another beam, which brought out a fear of being slowed down though later it is shown he is simply immune to her powers, because of his pure heart.[9] If Luffy finds something he doesn't understand, even if someone explained in detail, he calls it a "mystery thing"; like calling dance powder a "mystery powder". Another running gag is Luffy's slow reaction time, especially to Snow and freezing temperatures. One running gag of Luffy's is asking "non-humans" such as Keimi and Brook if they can poop. In which case the answer is usually a yes.

Because he views the world in a straightforward and simple manner, he occasionally is the only person who can see past events that have taken place and realize the true goal, yet at other times he can fall into the simplest of traps. He is, however, a genius when it comes to fighting, such as when he figured out how to defeat Crocodile's Devil Fruit power on the verge of death, how to use Soru from sight, and developed a number of effective counters to Enel's "Mantra" ability. He does have a habit of holding a grudge even in dire situations (such as calling Franky a "bastard" in the middle of his fight with Rob Lucci causing Franky to retort "Now's not the time to be mad at me" and refusing to let Crocodile help him escape Impel Down even when there was no alternative). When drawing him, Oda has said he tries to make Luffy very straightforward about what he wants to be and how he feels. To compliment Luffys naivety and straightforward attitude, there is a running gag through the series where Luffy is capable of similarities that have little resemblance (like being able to see the resemblance between Sanji and his Wanted Poster, or being able to see Spoil as an old man with major wounds rather than a zombie), but is unable to see similarities with things with obvious connections (like being unable to tell that Sogeking is Usopp, or not seeing through Foxy's pathetic disguises).[10]

Luffy's simple attitude and naive comments during fights is often mistaken by his oppenent as poking fun at them. Due to this fact many of his opponents lose their cool and charge at him in anger. In many cases the opponents fail to understand whether luffy is serious or just playing during fights due to the bizarre actions like drinking too much water in his fight with Crocodile or punching out Arlong's teeth and using it as a weapon to bite him. Though Luffy has maintained that he is always serious during fights. In most cases once he starts to fight he maintains a serious attitude and is only seen laughing once he defeats the enemy or is certain the enemy will be defeated like in Buggy's case when he laughed before sending Buggy flying in the air. Though his comments and methods during the fights often lead his opponents to think that he is joking and not taking the fight seriously.

In battle, Luffy has shown signs of intelligence, high tactical and innovative skills. He can easily adapt to hindering situations such as Mr. 3's Candle Lock or Enel's Gloam Paddling into an attack. He also used a mirror to reflect Foxy's Noro Noro Beam attack. Recently in the "Ace Execution" arc, Mihawk mentions that Luffy seems unusually clear-headed by avoiding Mihawk's attacks. Additionally, during his battle against Mihawk, he uses Buggy as a scapegoat shield to help protect him and move forward towards Ace.

As a person with the middle initial D, Luffy shares the common trait of not fearing of death. He will often state that if he reaches his goal, that's fine, but if he dies on the way, that's fine too. He even smiled when he was nearly executed by Buggy the Clown in Loguetown , although he did have a look of shock and surprise in his eyes before this happened when Sanji and Zoro tried to rescue him. Luffy also has a habit of saying things with a lot more weight and (occasionally) wisdom than he realizes without even thinking or meaning to.[11]

Luffy also has an extreme thirst for adventure, which he has stated is the main reason he wants to become the Pirate King, having the belief that the Pirate King would be the one on the entire ocean with the most freedom for adventuring. This adventurous nature also makes him tend to avoid taking 'the easy way out' at times, such as when he destroyed the Eternal Pose to Arabasta given to him by Robin (Miss All-Sunday at the time), stating that he did not want an enemy to decide his destination. He also has no intention of trying to learn what or where One Piece actually is until he finds it himself, and once stated he would quit being a pirate if his crew tried to find out, not wanting to 'go on a boring adventure'.[12]
“ We are NOT asking him where the treasure is hidden!!! We're not even asking him whether there IS any treasure or not!! I'm not sure, but... ...everybody set out to sea, risking their lives to search for it!!! If you ask this old man anything about it here and now... Then I'll quit being a pirate! I don't want to go on a boring adventure like that!

— Luffy speaks out on learning what One Piece is from Rayleigh.

Luffy seems to have an unstoppable appetite which is another common "D" trait, as well as a strong belief in dreams.[13] Like other D's so far, he also is a glutton, despite his skinny appearance: he especially loves meat and can eat a fish whole - bones included[14] and because of this, a running gag is Luffy constantly stealing other peoples' food with his rubber powers, causing them to yell at him and sometimes hit him.

Another running gag is his habit of being amazed of various abilities of villains often yelling out "AMAZING" with stars in his eyes and around his head. Luffy believes that he is at his "coolest" when he is wearing armor. He also constantly insults his opponents by giving them degrading nicknames (such as calling Gecko Moria a "leek" or Enel "earlobes"). Luffy apparently has no skill with insulting people, usually taking either a physical aspect or unique ability and trying to make it degrading. Luffy also seems to have a slight obsession when it comes to outfitting himself with full-body armors, and has a knack of wearing himself one whenever he gets the chance, but every armor that he manages to find and outfit himself with usually ends up destroyed either in a battle or by some other comedic scenario.

Luffy never kills any of the villains (no matter how cold-hearted they are); instead, he frequently sends the villain flying, knocking them out or until the point that they are almost near death. Oda explains that it's not a question of morality so much as a matter of punishing the villains for their crimes - he feels that killing the villains lets them off too lightly, whereas he considers letting them live to see their dreams be ruined a far more fitting punishment.[15] Ironically though, some of the people he has defeated have become good after their defeat, most noticeably Wapol going to become a rich CEO of a toy factory.

Another dominant trait of Luffy is his humble nature: he doesn't brag about the powerful foes he's defeated in the past, though he's not above about claiming that no one has ever beaten him in the past, which is not true, having been defeated at least once by Ace, twice by Crocodile, once by Aokiji, once by Rob Lucci, once by Kuma, and once by Magellan in the past. Despite this, he remains humble despite having done outrageous acts like defeating Shichibukai-level pirates and issuing the order to burn down the World Government Flag back at Enies Lobby. When Franky pointed out the latter, Luffy only replied that it was nothing to get worked up over, for he and his crew were only there to take back a crew member who was taken from them. When Sengoku tries to figure out a way to cover up Gecko Moria's defeat (Ordering Bartholomew Kuma to kill the Strawhat Crew), Luffy's grandfather, Vice-Admiral Garp tells him, "Ah, don't worry yourself Sengoku! Luffy isn't the sort of guy who'd go around boasting about taking out Moria anyway!!" Despite his passion for fighting, Luffy also generally refuses to fight someone that he does not personally consider an enemy, preferring to either talk it over or run away from the confrontation. Over the series Luffy has become more mature and levelheaded, though he only shows this part of his personality when he and his friends are in dire situations or someone insults him, calling people like him and their beliefs foolish; other than that he still acts the same as he was at the start of the series.

Luffy calls every mixed-appearance creature he finds by whichever creature is its secondary (non-dominant) part. On Gaimon's island, the dog/chicken was referred to as a chicken when it was mostly a dog, the snake/rabbit a rabbit even though it was mostly snake and the pig/lion a lion even though it was mostly pig.[16] This becomes a running gag: later when he meets Bananawani, he calls them bananas with crocodiles attached to them. Also, after seeing Pierre transform, he continued to refer to him as a "horse" instead of a bird. And related to this running gag, when on Longring Longland island, he called every animal by what he thought they resembled rather than the actual species they were.

Luffy is very loyal to his crewmates and other friends, and can lose his temper quickly if they are harmed in anyway. Luffy is willing to do drastic things to avenge and defend those dear to him, even if it means breaking a promise to his friends (such as striking Bellamy down for attacking Montblanc Cricket's crew and even though promising Nami he would not pick a fight, and punching Tenryuubito Saint Charloss in the face for shooting Hatchan, despite promising not to defy the World Nobles). Aside from his own loyalty, Luffy also believes that all people should be loyal to their nakama, and if Luffy sees anyone betraying their own comrades, he would stand up for the victims (even if they are enemies). Notable examples of this are Captain Kuro killing his own crew, Don Krieg attacking Gin, and Boa Hancock petrifying her fellow Kuja tribe members. Luffy's apparent selflessness often inspires others to side with him as a result, notable among these people are Boa Hancock and Emporio Ivankov, who wouldn't have helped him in anyway, given their individual beliefs. He also shows respect for things that a person is willing to die for, be it a treasure or a secret, to the point of even fighting to protect that which the person would throw their lives away over. The most noticeable action to this would be when he protected the Gorgon Sisters secret by using his own body to cover the mark on Sandersonia's back, even though they were trying to kill him.[17] However, despite all his peculiar traits and habits (with his trademark dimwitted behavior) Luffy's most defining part of his personality is his sheer ability to make allies out of absolutely anyone, (including former enemies, villains and even Whitebeard himself), which is said by Mihawk to be the most dangerous ability in the world.

Also, as a bit of a running gag, Luffy, when talking about money, tells his crewmates to budget their money, only for them to react in return that it all goes towards to feeding him. Recently, though, another running gag involves Luffy randomly telling someone a secret, such as the identity of his and Ace's fathers, only to casually ask to keep it as a secret afterwards. He shares this with his grandpa.
Enemies

Even the Marines started to take him more seriously after he defeated the villainous Marine Captain "Axe-Hand" Morgan and several known pirates such as Captain Buggy the Clown, "Pirate Admiral" Don Krieg, and Arlong the Fishman. A 30,000,000 bounty was placed on his head after he had beaten Arlong and the Marines were cautious about Arlong's defeat because it had brought to question the worth of their units. This reward eventually becomes100,000,000 after he defeated Crocodile, when the World Government deemed him a serious threat for beating one of their Shichibukai. After the invasion of Enies Lobby, where they declare war on the world government itself, the government raised the bounties of the entire crew; Luffy's was raised to 300,000,000.

His personality has left an imprint on a few of his rivals, with both Trafalgar Law and Eustass Kid being left with respect for him after he boasted he will be the one to find One Piece. They departed on good terms and all three agreed to meet up again in the New World.[19] Other rivals among the Eleven Supernovas are not so happy with Luffy, with Bonney claiming that she will finish them off herself if she ever meets them in the New World, upset with Luffy causing trouble for her and the others by forcing Kizaru to arrive.[20]

During his voyage, Luffy has had a few meetings with the Marines, from the not too serious looking return of Ironfist Fullbody (whom Luffy met first by the Baratie) and Commodore Smoker of Loguetown, to Admiral Aokiji. While some are easy to defeat, Luffy has been unable to defeat Smoker or Aokiji due to their powerful Logia abilities, and has resorted to running away from Smoker when he encounters him.

Luffy has passed several islands on his way to and along The Grand Line, including Drum Island, Little Garden, Arabasta, and Skypiea. He has met many new allies, as well as making several powerful enemies, such as Crocodile, Enel, Rob Lucci, and Gecko Moria, often inadvertently becoming an obstacle to their schemes, befriending one of their enemies, or being targeted by them, and then proceeding to fight against and defeat them. Some of Luffy's enemies, such as Alvida and Buggy the Clown seek revenge on him for defeating them, though currently Buggy is helping (unwillingly) Luffy rescue Ace.

After being completely defeated in the Sabaody Archipelago and failing to save a single crewmate from Bartholomew Kuma's repelling abilities, Luffy has sworn to defeat him, Sentoumaru and Admiral Kizaru.

Luffy also has a friendly to enemy relationship with Marshall D. Teach. When they first met in the Wild Cherry, they were rivals over some petty things over favorite foods. Blackbeard then gave Luffy a friendly speech over not to forfeit on dreams, despite Blackbeard's later attempt to capture Luffy for his high bounty. However, during the mass breakout attempt in Impel Down, when Luffy learned that the man is Blackbeard, the one responsible for Ace's capture and impending execution, Luffy flew into a rage and attacked. Though this led to them becoming enemies, Blackbeard continued to encourage Luffy to follow dreams, and he tried to hold off Magellan (if only for his own reasons).
Friends
“ It's not some sort of special power, but he has the ability to make allies of everyone he meets. And that is the most fearsome ability on the high seas...

-Hawkeye Mihawk, commenting on Luffy at the Battle of Marineford

Luffy shares a strong relationship with Shanks, the pirate who saved his life ten years ago in his hometown, and looks up to him as his role model of an ideal pirate. Shanks and his crew are the ones Luffy proclaimed he would beat as they were leaving Luffy's hometown. Luffy will often defend his friend when others insult him and was relieved to hear from his grandfather that Shanks and his crew were okay.[18] Part of Luffy's dream is to return the hat Shanks gave him when he becomes a great pirate.

Luffy has since worked diligently on keeping that promise and is known famously as "Monkey D. Luffy", or simply "Straw Hat Luffy". Most people don't take his goal seriously, until they see his absurd strength. Mihawk, Blackbeard, and Kidd are the only ones who truly acknowledged his dream right at the start.

Luffy befriends most of the civilians he meets on his journey, who normally fear him for being a pirate but hold him in admiration by the time he moves on to the next adventure. He is especially quick to befriend people, often calling people whom he has known less then a day his friends and being willing to go as far as necessary for them.

While Coby, the first person Luffy met on his journey, acknowledges that as he is a Marine, they will inevitably have to fight, they consider each other friends, as Luffy helped Coby muster the courage necessary to become a Marine.

Luffy has made a friendly rival in the whale Laboon. And, after painting the Straw Hat's jolly roger on Laboon's forehead, promised the two will finish their fight with each other the next time they meet.

Luffy is good friends with Vivi, who was with them all throughout the Arabasta arc, and he even considers her an honorary nakama and Straw Hat crew member.

Luffy is also good friends with Bon Kurei (even to the extent of him asking if in the future he could join the Straw Hats) after Bon Kurei apologized for causing them trouble in Arabasta, and distracted the Marines so the Straw Hats could escape. Bon Kurei went as far as to give his life away to save Luffy and other prisoners by posing as Magellan and ordering the opening of the Gates of Justice during the Impel Down Arc.

As of recently, Luffy has also managed to befriend the Gorgon Sisters, despite their previous attempts to kill him for seeing the mark on Shichibukai Boa Hancock's back, which the other two sisters also have. The mark was of the Tenryuubito, proof that they were once a slave to them, and they would have rather die than show the mark to anyone. During a fight with Hancock's sisters, when Sandersonia's mark was about to be revealed, Luffy served in preventing everyone present from viewing it as a form of respect to his opponents, claiming that their secrets have nothing to do with their fight. This sparked up past memories in Hancock, and revoking her decision to eliminate him. Upon further testing his selflessness, she reveals their past to him, and Luffy forgives them, showing that he only hates the Tenryuubito who did all of them wrong, earning their friendship and (without his knowledge) Hancock's love. He has come to greatly appreciate Hancock in return, as she helped him in the two major instances of helping him break into Impel Down and giving him the key to Ace's seastone handcuffs.

He also has a very friendly relationship with the entire population of Amazon Lily, as it seems every single Kuja practically worships him, as they have never seen a man before, and for the fact that he is a friend of the empress. They even went as far as selling "touches and pokes" of Luffy for 20 gold pieces each. Most of them affectionately refer to him as "Luffy-sama".

In Impel Down he also befriended Ivankov and Inazuma the former of whom is currently helping Luffy to save Ace due to the fact that he is one of Dragon's closest nakama and feels that it is his duty to help Luffy. Before directly encountering him, however, Ivankov and all of his Okama followers were already aware of Luffy's status as not only a pirate but Impel Down's first-ever intruder through the Den Den Mushi surveillance systems within the Great Gaol, and he unintentionally achieved a celebrity status within New Kama Land as a result.

It's notable as well that Luffy has connections to the some of the most powerful organizations or people, mostly through his extensive and famous family. His known family alone, has him connected to powerful members in the Revolutionary Army, Marines, and Whitebeard. Besides his family, he has Shanks, Rayleigh, Boa Hancock, Jinbei, Coby, and Helmeppo, who connect him to another Yonkou, the Shichibukai, and again the Marines. As The Kingdom of Arabasta is an affiliate Nation of the World Government, through Vivi (and by extension, Cobra) he may also possess some influence there. Therefore in the reigning World Powers, he only doesn't have connections in the Gourousei.

He has gained the assistance and admiration of all of the Whitebeard Pirates and allies, namely Whitebeard himself, in his quest to save Ace. After seeing the lengths to which Luffy would go to save Ace, Whitebeard even remarked that he wouldn't forgive Marco if he let Luffy die. Soon after, he assigned his crew and allies to back up Luffy after witnessing him unleash his Haki.

Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle

Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle (ツバサ-RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE-, Tsubasa: Rezaboa Kuronikuru?) adalah sebuah manga oleh CLAMP. Tsubasa berarti sayap dalam bahasa Jepang. Inti cerita Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle adalah petualangan mencari memori berupa bulu sayap yang hilang.

Sinopsis
Alkisah tersebutlah sebuah negeri padang pasir bernama Clow.

* Kurogane (pengisi suara: Tetsu Inada): Kasar, pemarah, suka sekali berkelahi, tapi setia kawan.

* Subaru (pengisi suara: Hiro Shimono)

* Kamui (pengisi suara: Mamoru Miyano)

* Fūma (pengisi suara: Yuji Kishi)

* Puteri Tomoyo (pengisi suara: Maaya Sakamoto)

* Xing Huo (pengisi suara: Sanae Kobayashi)

* Kyle Rondart (pengisi suara: Mitsuru Miyamoto)

Lucky Star New Anime

Konata Izumi

Voiced by: Ryo Hirohashi (Old Drama CD, NDS Video Game), Aya Hirano (Anime, PS2 Video Game), Wendee Lee (English)

Konata Izumi (泉 こなた, Izumi Konata?) is, more by default than anything else, the "leader" and the shortest of the main characters. Nicknamed "Kona-chan" (こなちゃん?) by Tsukasa, she is an eccentric but friendly and outgoing girl, with a mischievous yet good-natured sense of humor. She can be smart, but she hates studying[1], thus her grades are a bit uneasy.[2] However, she is an expert in pulling an "all-nighter".[3] In contrast to her studying habits, she loves video games,[4] to the extent that she can compete against Kagami Hiiragi on trivia-based games.[5] In addition, she loves anime, which is also due to her father, Sōjirō Izumi's influence,[6] along with the games. Her father buys adult games for himself, so she is able to play and enjoy them.[7] In fact, when she became eighteen, Konata was overjoyed, since she could now go buy and play ero-games legally. In the anime, Konata constantly refers to or parodies several popular games, anime, and manga (much to the annoyance of Kagami). Both of her voice actresses for the animated version, Aya Hirano for the Japanese version and Wendee Lee for the English version, are in fact the same people who voiced Haruhi Suzumiya in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya anime; other voice actors from the same series make guest appearances during the course of Lucky Star.

In order to fund her interests, Konata had a part-time job at a cosplay cafe in Akihabara.[3][1] In online gaming, she played a male fighter type character, that gets married to a female fighting character that is actually a guy.[8] She often plays late into the night, hence why she tends to fall asleep in class, which makes her a frequent victim to her homeroom teacher, Nanako Kuroi.[6] Ironically, Ms. Kuroi was also part of Konata's team in the same game.[8] Konata rarely eats a "normal" Japanese lunch, as she frequently eats only a chocolate cornet.

Her physique is smaller than average when compared to her peers, which she claims hasn't changed since she was in the sixth grade.[9] She is ambidextrous, in contrast to the mostly left-handed main cast. She has long, blue hair which comes down to her calves with a large ahoge, sleepy eyes, a catlike smile and a beauty mark under her left eye, just like her father. Her mother, Kanata Izumi, died when she was an infant, and she has lived alone with her father since.[6] In her third year of high school, however, her cousin, Yutaka Kobayakawa, came to live at her house,[10] giving a total of three people in the Izumi residence. Although Konata spends most of her time playing games in her room, she has a darker skin tone, like her father's. Konata placed seventh in 2channel's SaiMoe 2007 contest, came in second place in the category of "Best Female Character" in the thirtieth Anime Grand Prix, and ranked third in Newtype's "Top 10 Female Characters of 2007" poll.
Kagami Hiiragi

Voiced by: Ami Koshimizu (Old Drama CD, NDS Video Game), Emiri Katō (Anime, Radio, PS2 Video Game), Kari Wahlgren (English)

Kagami Hiiragi (柊 かがみ, Hiiragi Kagami?) is the older fraternal twin sister of Tsukasa Hiiragi. In school, her grades are excellent, as she studies very hard,[11] and she was elected class president in her first year. She is in a different class than Konata Izumi and Tsukasa, but she frequently comes to their class during lunch time to eat with them. Additionally, Kagami chose the humanities stream in her second year, so that she could be with her friends,[12] but she was the only one separated into a different classroom; the same occurred in her third year. Kagami, occasionally referred to as "Kagamin" (かがみん?) by Konata, is a bit egotistical, and not as good a cook as Tsukasa.[12] Konata loves to irritate her, and their arguments act as one of the main factors of comic relief throughout the series. Kagami is usually annoyed by Konata's constant references to her otaku interests, but usually has an idea on what she is saying.

Kagami's physique is average. However, she is usually concerned about her weight, counting every kilogram she gains or loses. Kagami likes to eat sweet food and she is often seen eating sweet food at night, such as chocolate Pocky sticks. Despite her concern about her weight, she has no willpower controlling her eating habit, resulting in an "eat now, fret later" attitude.[6] She has long, purple hair with a ribbon tied into bunches,[13] and unlike Tsukasa, has sharp eyes. Kagami is the stereotypical "tsundere"[13]; she on one side can be the straight and intolerant type however, she is prone to become shy and lonely at times. Kagami is constantly attempting to hide the fact that she has a deep sense of attachment to her friends, especially Konata.[13] She also seems to take a twisted delight in mocking Konata's smaller-than-average physique, her lack of motivation and her tendency to be a troublemaker, which usually results in Konata becoming very defensive. In spite of all this, she really does care about Konata, and is almost always willing to go places or do favors for her.

Similarly to Konata, Kagami likes video games, but plays a different genre than Konata: side-scrolling shooters.[7] She loves to read light novels, but is lonely, as no one around her has the same interests as her (though she is implied to have a knack for anime, since a stuffed Bonta-kun doll from Full Metal Panic! can be seen in her room). Both Kagami and Tsukasa are left-handed. Kagami shares the name of her creator, Kagami Yoshimizu, and according to the creator, Kagami was his pen name in his school days, and had her personality thought out long ago.

Kagami became the 2008 Anime Saimoe Tournament's champion with her sister Tsukasa being runner-up.
Tsukasa Hiiragi

Voiced by: Mai Nakahara (Old Drama CD, NDS Video Game), Kaori Fukuhara (Anime, Radio, PS2 Video Game), Michelle Ruff (English)

Tsukasa Hiiragi (柊 つかさ, Hiiragi Tsukasa?) is the younger fraternal twin sister of Kagami Hiiragi and lives in a six-member family household.[14] She is in the same class as Konata Izumi. She isn't good at studying or at sports, but excels in cooking. Tsukasa often depends on Kagami for help on her homework, like Konata, but their reasons are different: Tsukasa easily forgets her assignments, while Konata is just too lazy or preoccupied with her hobbies to do them herself.[3] Unlike some of the other characters in the series, Tsukasa has not shown any particular interests in video games and anime, but she does like the Sgt. Frog series.[12]

Tsukasa's physique is a little smaller than average. She has short, purple hair with a ribbon like a head band in it. Her eyes are droopy and she is portrayed as a stereotypical klutz. Tsukasa once received a mobile phone for her birthday, but didn't have much luck with it, as the phone was taken away by using it in class and later mistakenly ruined by putting it in the laundry, along with her skirt.[12] Once, she left instant yakisoba alone after pouring hot water in it, only to come back later discovering there was no water left to drain.[15] Unlike most of the cast of Lucky Star, Tsukasa is a heavy sleeper, and cannot wake up at a set time, even when someone is present to do so.[3] Like her sister, Tsukasa is left-handed.

She can be mistaken for cosplaying as Akari Kamigishi from To Heart when she wears her autumn school uniform, which is pointed out twice in the anime: once, when Konata gave her the actual uniform used in the To Heart anime for her birthday (while giving Kagami the "Brigade Chief" armband usually worn by Haruhi Suzumiya),[6] and the second, when two people stopped her at Akihabara to take her picture, much to her embarrassment.[1]
Miyuki Takara

Voiced by: Erina Nakayama (Old Drama CD, NDS Video Game), Aya Endō (Anime, PS2 Video Game), Karen Strassman (English)

Miyuki Takara (高良 みゆき, Takara Miyuki?) is a young lady from a wealthy family who is beautiful, smart, and well-mannered. She always uses extremely polite Japanese, even when talking with her closest friends. She was the class president for her grade level in her first year,[16] at the same time that she became good friends with Kagami. Now Miyuki is in the same class as Konata and Tsukasa, and is nicknamed "Yuki-chan" (ゆきちゃん?) by Tsukasa. Miyuki's classmates often rely on her for help with their studies, and she is often shown giving impromptu but highly-detailed, encyclopedic definitions or explanations on diverse and obscure matters. She is shown being one of the top three best students in her grade for the semester.[17][18]

She is described as a stereotypically friendly meganekko, or glasses-wearing girl. She is scared of contacts, and of putting them in her eyes, thus why she wears glasses.[18] Her vision is less than 0.1 (20/200), though it had been good until elementary school, when she began reading books in the dark after her mother dozed off while reading to her in bed.[1] She likes to read books, but does not read light novels. Miyuki loves to sleep, and she always goes to bed fairly early.[16] She hates visits to the dentist,[3] but frequently has to go to fix a loose crown or because of tooth decay. Due to her embodying such a large number of moe archetypes, Miyuki is the frequent-victim of Konata's playful bouts of verbal sexual-harassment.[19] She is seen less often than the other three main characters.
Schoolmates
Yutaka Kobayakawa

Voiced by: Ai Shimizu (Old Drama CD, NDS Video Game), Shizuka Hasegawa (Anime, PS2 Video Game), Hynden Walch (English)

Yutaka Kobayakawa (小早川 ゆたか, Kobayakawa Yutaka?) is Konata's cousin and Yui's younger sister.[20] She first appeared in episode fourteen in the anime when she was admitted into Ryōō High School and moves to live with Konata to help with the commute.[21] She has been known to be quite sickly which has impacted her school life,[22] but she remains cheerful nonetheless. She befriends Minami Iwasaki,[23] Hiyori Tamura[24] and Patricia Martin at school.[1]
Minami Iwasaki

Voiced by: Miyu Matsuki (Old Drama CD, NDS Video Game), Minori Chihara (Anime, PS2 Video Game), Michelle Ruff (English)

Minami Iwasaki (岩崎 みなみ, Iwasaki Minami?) comes from a wealthy family, and she lives across the street from Miyuki Takara.[25] She owns a very large white dog and has a parasol in her yard.[16] Her hobbies include reading books, playing the piano, and playing with her dog, Cherry. A very quiet girl (usually speaking in as few words as possible) who does not show much emotion, Minami is often mistaken for being cold, but she is very kind at heart.[16] However, many jokes arise when her seemingly "perfect and sleek" appearance is contradicted, such as when Miyuki's mother notices Minami teaching Cherry how to stand on his hind legs by mimicking the position herself; Minami often blushes heavily and stares at the floor in response to such teasing. Like Konata, Minami has a flat chest as well, but she is ashamed of it. She was admitted to Ryōō Gakuen High School, along with Yutaka Kobayakawa, whom she met during the admissions exam; afterwards, she helped Yutaka go to the nurse's office when she became sick. Once there, she gave Yutaka her handkerchief, which started their friendship.[10] She and Yutaka are in the same class, and Minami is the class health officer.[16] She's the 'mysterious' and 'emotionless' one out of the group according to her friends.

Minami has short, mint-green hair and her eyes are slightly slanted upward, giving them a 'sharp' appearance similar to that of Kagami's. She is very slender and quite tall for her age.[1] Due to her short hair and lean body structure, Minami has a tendency to look more androgynous than the other Lucky Star characters (a reason that Hiyori Tamura often pairs her and Yutaka as yuri models). She gets along with Miyuki, since they have similar tastes and are from the same neighborhood; Minami has often been compared to being Miyuki's "little sister" due to Minami's clingy attraction to her neighbor from when they were younger.
Patricia Martin

Voiced by: Satsuki Yukino (Old Drama CD, NDS Video Game), Nozomi Sasaki (Anime, PS2 Video Game), Patricia Ja Lee (English)

Patricia Martin (パトリシア・マーティン, Patorishia Mātin?), nicknamed "Patty" (パティ, Patti?), is a first-year transfer student from the United States. She is in the same class as Yutaka Kobayakawa and Minami Iwasaki. Patricia loves anime and manga and has learned all her Japanese through them,[26] leading to her having a very unusual Japanese vocabulary. She tends to make quite a few generalizations of Japan and Japanese culture based on otaku culture, even more so than her senior, Konata Izumi. She claims to enjoy a wide range of Japanese music, however the only artists she listens to are those who have performed anime theme songs, and only those songs alone. She is extremely energetic and lively. Aside from Miyuki Takara, she has the second biggest chest size, which she is often ashamed about. Patricia works with Konata at the same cosplay café.[1]
Hiyori Tamura

Voiced by: Ryōko Shintani (NDS Video Game and Extra Drama CD), Kaori Shimizu (Anime, PS2 Video Game), Philece Sampler (English)

Hiyori Tamura (田村 ひより, Tamura Hiyori?) is an amateur dōjin artist, who is also the first-year classmate of Yutaka Kobayakawa and Minami Iwasaki. Additionally, she is an otaku who creates her own dōjinshi; her genres are broad, stretching from boys love to yuri.[27] Hiyori is always searching for a good plot to use in her dōjinshi, and tends to imagine Yutaka and Minami in romantic moments, only to grow embarrassed over the idea and break into an emotional outburst, which leaves Yutaka and Minami clueless. Even if she has a moment of enlightenment, she fails to jot down notes about it, which causes her to forget what her great idea was about. Called "Hiyorin" (ひよりん?) by Konata and Kō (also Konata called "Hiyo-hiyo" (ひよひよ?) and Kō called "Hiyori"), she tends to be a kind person, but has unfortunate luck. Hiyori has a friendly personality, but is prone to becoming bashful, leading to simple mistakes during a decisive moment. Throughout the series it is implied that Hiyori has a hard time with animals. This is often portrayed by her interactions with Minami's dog, Cherry. For example, in the OVA, Cherry beats Hiyori with its paws and frightens her. Hiyori has long black hair, a wide forehead, and is a meganekko. She is a member of the Animation Research Club, and is Kō's junior.
Ayano Minegishi

Voiced by: Yūko Gotō (NDS Video Game and Extra Drama CD), Mai Aizawa (Anime, PS2 Video Game), Peggy O'Neal (English)

Ayano Minegishi (峰岸 あやの, Minegishi Ayano?) is Kagami Hiiragi's classmate and has been in the same class with Kagami for the past five years, since middle school;[16] she is a childhood friend of Misao. She is passive and likes to take care of people, hence she is portrayed as a character that looks after Misao.[28] However, according to Misao, when Ayano does get angry, she is much more intimidating. Ayano holds back her long orange hair with a headband, but since her front hair is pulled back, she is looked at as having a large forehead. Also, she can make excellent cookies. She is the only Lucky Star girl who has a boyfriend (her boyfriend is actually Misao's elder brother, according to volume 7). At one point, Kagami compared Ayano and Misao to Tsukasa and Konata respectively, saying that she apparently tends to attract the same kinds of friends.[1] She worries much with Tsukasa.
Misao Kusakabe

Voiced by: Mikako Takahashi (NDS Video Game and Extra Drama CD), Kaoru Mizuhara (Radio, Anime, PS2 Video Game), Lara Jill Miller (English)

Misao Kusakabe (日下部 みさお, Kusakabe Misao?) is a childhood friend of Ayano since middle school, along with Kagami, her fellow classmate.[16] Misao tends to be quite lazy, simple-minded and an outdoor type of person. She is in the track and field club, hates studying,[1] and harbors a love for video games, despite not being particularly talented at them. She has tanned skin, dark hair slightly slanted eyes, and a small fang in the side of her mouth.[29]

Misao does not seem to be skilled at playing video games, yet plays them for purely for fun; she notes on having borrowed many games from various people. In fact, her concept of "play for fun" is so strong that she does not mind losing to Kagami, instead marveling at how well her friend plays and making a loud, congratulatory spectacle. This leaves Kagami with a sense of guilt and bewilderment. At one point, Kagami compared Ayano and Misao to Tsukasa and Konata respectively, saying that she apparently tends to attract the same kinds of friends.[1] Misao dislikes Konata for "stealing" Kagami away from her group, and often rants about Kagami leaving her group for Konata who she knew for only one to two years. She calls Konata by the name "Chibikko" (ちびっ子?) which is literally used as an equivalent for "midget" and can be literally translated to "a very tiny child", and she is nicknamed "Misakichi" (みさきち?) by Konata in Manga.
Kō Yasaka

Voiced by: Rika Morinaga (PS2 Video Game)

Kō Yasaka (八坂 こう, Yasaka Kō?) is the president of the Animation Research Club, and is also the treasurer of the Student Council. She is called "Kō-chan-senpai" (こーちゃん先輩?) by her juniors, including Hiyori, who is a member of the Animation Research Club. She is studying at Ryōō High School in class 2-F and is the only second year among the Lucky Star girls at the time of her appearance (the rest being either first or third year students). She enjoys playing anime-themed fighting games, and also likes to check on new and trendy things, never failing to miss one. She has played fighting games with Konata before, and does not notice that Konata is her senior. She has tanned skin, likes dōjinshi, manga, observing people, chatting, and gambling. In Lucky Star: Ryōō Gakuen Ōtōsai, she is a good friend of Yamato Nagamori.
Yamato Nagamori

Voiced by: Shion Hirota (PS2 Video Game)

Yamato Nagamori (永森 やまと, Nagamori Yamato?) is the central character of Lucky Star: Ryōō Gakuen Ōtōsai, the PlayStation 2 game of Lucky Star. A mysterious transfer student who transfer along with the protagonist in the game, her former school is Saint Fiorina All-Girls High School, and was in class 2-3 before she transferred to 3-B, the same class as Konata. She acts emotionless, spoiled and mysterious, giving her a typical tsuntsun personality. She was Kō's close friend when she was still a junior-high student. In the game, Yamato had a fatal collision with a star-shaped survey spaceship which crashed because of a mysterious event at Ryōō school festival. To prevent the accident from happening, the alien resurrects and fuses with Yamato who transfers to Ryōō High on a mission to reverse time several days before the festival to track down the accident's cause, and after telling the game's protagonist the reason behind the time loop and time reversals, Yamato hopes for the protagonist's trial-and-error déjà-vu to find ways to erase possible events in the school festival that would lead to the accident. After the puzzle is solved, Yamato reveals herself as an alien which leaves Yamato's body and erases everyone's memory about the whole incident and Yamato returns to Saint Fiorina All-Girls High School. In the manga, Yamato retains some alien powers such as ESP and projecting thought, though she's clueless why she can. Her hobby is karaoke and cycling. She likes soft azuki bean jelly, Yukimi Daifuku, and summer. She dislikes shellfish, and winter.
Lucky Channel

At the end of each anime episode of Lucky Star, there is a short omake segment called "Lucky Channel". One of the recurring jokes of this segment is the strained partnership between Akira Kogami and Minoru Shiraishi. While tenuous at best, Akira does show some affection for Minoru. Although most of the time the show discusses certain characters in Lucky Star, events in the actual anime or other things relating to the hosts of the show, Lucky Channel also has its own chain of events which have tie-ins to Lucky Star, making it a side-story.
Akira Kogami

Voiced by: Ai Nonaka (NDS Video Game and Extra Drama CD), Hiromi Konno (Radio, Anime, PS2 Video Game), Stephanie Sheh (English)

Akira Kogami (小神 あきら, Kogami Akira?) is a fourteen-year-old junior high school student, who is also the captain of the Lucky Star informational ad section called "Lucky Channel" in the Comptiq magazine. Akira has short salmon pink hair and has an ahoge towards the right side of her head, and has golden yellow eyes. Her arms are so short that the sleeves of her winter school uniform easily cover her hands.[30] Akira tends to be very energetic, and her chief form of greeting is "Hi ya Luckies!", and frequently ends each episode with "Bye-ni!". Ni (二?), as in the Japanese number two, and can be written as "Bye2", resulting in a shorter and cuter form of Bye-Bye. The cute persona, however, is a cover-up; in reality, whenever she is annoyed or feels that her career or popularity is threatened (usually both by her assistant, Minoru Shiraishi), Akira's bright persona is instantaneously shed to reveal a deep voiced, violent, chain-smoking, selfish-cynic of a burnt out entertainer on the brink of becoming a has-been. However, her talents are undeniable; she has been in the entertainment business since the age of three. She can be quite cruel towards Minoru, both physically and emotionally. She has been known to throw all sorts of objects (such as her overflowing ashtray) into his face, particularly whenever he mentions that a girl in the Lucky Star cast is cute. Akira's disturbing and menacing persona may be a tongue in cheek and satirical look at the insecurities of Japanese idol singers, whose popularity is constantly threatened by the "next cutest thing on the block". She is the main character of the manga Akira's Ambition, which is still being serialized in magazine Comp Ace published by Kadokawa Shoten.
Minoru Shiraishi

Voiced by: Minoru Shiraishi (Radio, Anime, PS2 Video Game), Sam Riegel (English)

Minoru Shiraishi (白石 みのる, Shiraishi Minoru?) appears in the "Lucky Channel" segment at the end of each Lucky Star episode, but is also a minor recurring character, as a member of Konata Izumi's class. He is the animated version of his voice actor, Minoru Shiraishi, although it is likely that the animated version is only around eighteen years old, due to his being in class 3-B. In the karaoke end credits theme sequence after episode two of the anime, it was revealed that Minoru has a part-time position, working at the karaoke bar Konata and her friends sing at. In the "Lucky Channel" segment, Minoru is Akira Kogami's assistant, who repeatedly gets yelled at (and physically abused) by Akira, if he does or says something not to her liking. Usually, just when he attains enough confidence to speak out and enjoy himself, Akira stops in his tracks, usually insulting him for,"being full of himself." Minoru was nicknamed "Sebastian" by Konata one day, because of his likeness to a butler. Since then, the Lucky Star cast and Akira herself has called him this. After a trip to the forests around Mt. Fuji to get spring water for Akira, Minoru comes back a dirty and torn-up mess, and was more than likely mauled by a bear during his quest judging from the claw-marks on his back. Akira dubbed the water as too warm, spat it on the camera lens and then threw the rest in his face. This, after her cocktail of constant physical and mental abuse (not to mention being mauled by a bear for nothing), was the straw that broke the camel's back, causing Minoru to go berserk and destroy the set for "Lucky Channel". During their confrontation in episode twenty-one of the anime, it seems that he has lost his fear of Akira, yelling right back at her and thwarting her desire to perform. In the final episode, with the stage wrecked, they do their last show, only to have yet another argument—she starts singing her song, but he, claiming this is merely a microphone check, cuts her off after only a few seconds. He appears briefly in Lucky Star: Ryōō Gakuen Ōtōsai, the PlayStation 2 game of Lucky Star in a secret scene, where he is shown to trying to find the spring water in Mt. Fuji before being mauled.
Teachers
Nanako Kuroi

Voiced by: Masumi Asano (Old Drama CD, NDS Video Game), Konomi Maeda (Anime, PS2 Video Game), Kate Higgins (English)

Nanako Kuroi (黒井 ななこ, Kuroi Nanako?) is the homeroom teacher for Konata Izumi's class and her primary subject is world history. She is more like a friend than their teacher, as she has a lax personality. Consequently, she frequently borrows and exchanges video games with Konata, and is in Konata's guild in the same online game, where she plays as a wizard. It is mentioned on multiple occasions that Konata is a tanker while Kuroi is a wizard who only does AOE skills.[8] Still single,[15] she is constantly online, even on Christmas[15] and New Year's Day. Nanako has very long, blonde hair, which she ties at the back of her neck, and green eyes. When writing on the chalkboard, Nanako is able to become ambidextrous. She loves to watch baseball, and is a big fan of the Chiba Lotte Marines. Also, Nanako speaks in a fake Kansai accent. A running gag within the series is whenever Konata and Nanako are both online together, Nanako tells her to stop slacking off. She is also completely oblivious to Yui Narumi's marital status, often using Yui as a source of understanding regarding the life of being single. Nanako, as another running gag, frequently experiences realistic and humorously tragic computer troubles such as winding herself up for an online game only to be stopped by routine maintenance on the gaming server or writing a very long online blog only to lose it to a brief Internet interruption during submission. Such incidents usually end with her going to bed and sniffing sadly in a pitiful fashion.
Hikaru Sakuraba

Voiced by: Yuki Matsuoka (NDS Video Game and Extra Drama CD), Miki Inoue (Anime, PS2 Video Game)

Hikaru Sakuraba (桜庭 ひかる, Sakuraba Hikaru?) is the biology teacher at Ryōō High School, and is the homeroom teacher of Kagami's class 3-C. She is also the captain of the Lucky Star informational ad section, which was renamed "Lucky Paradise". She is feared by Akira, but Akira later calls Hikaru a betrayer. She likes CalorieMate and sleeping, dislikes vegetables, and people who quickly misunderstand things. She is Fuyuki's good friend, who works as a school nurse. She appears briefly in episode twenty-four of the anime, making sure that Akira and Minoru will do things right, who are in bad terms after the event of episode twenty-one of "Lucky Channel".
Fuyuki Amahara

Voiced by: Kumi Sakuma (PS2 Video Game)

Fuyuki Amahara (天原 ふゆき, Amahara Fuyuki?) is the school nurse of Ryōō High School, and the advisor of the Tea Ceremony club. She first appeared in the omake part of volume four of the manga, but later appears regularly starting from volume five. Hikaru is her childhood friend and her guardian. She has a high popularity with the male students. Her hobbies are jogging and reading. She likes black tea, antique art, the occult, and horror, but dislikes riding on boats and cannot swim. She, Yamato Nagamori and Kō Yasaka, are the only characters who never made appearances in the anime, though the nurse's office is frequently referenced.
Families
Izumi family
Sōjirō Izumi

Voiced by: Hirokazu Hiramatsu (Anime, PS2 Video Game), Tony Oliver (English)

Sōjirō Izumi (泉 そうじろう, Izumi Sōjirō?) is Konata Izumi's father, an author who works at home.[7] He always wears loose, traditional Japanese clothing as his work clothes. He loves watching anime and playing video games,[6] which influenced his daughter's interests. Sōjirō is "also a lolicon". This appreciation for neoteny may be one factor that caused him to fall in love with Kanata, whom he eventually married. He describes that he likes girls as some men do, but that he also appreciates younger ones. This means that this attraction is equal or possibly secondary, meaning he does not have a preference for them, so despite being a 'lolicon' (person with a lolita complex) he would not be a pedophile. Throughout the show news reports and conversations indicate that young girls in the area are being approached by a strange man, and a running joke in the show involves hints that Sōjirō is in fact the one doing it. The best example of this is the opening, part of which involves Sōjirō spying on two schoolgirls from behind a lamppost.

Sōjirō is very thin, and has unshaven facial hair, he has a mole under his left eye which his daughter inherited and has thick eyebrows. Additionally, he is allergic to pollen and when he decided to wear goggles and masks as protection from it, Konata sighed that, "Now you look weirder as well".[16] She also frequently reminds him, "Please don't do anything as to be taken away by the cops".[16] Also, he often forgets to lock the door when he is using the toilet, which leaves Yutaka in tremendous shock.[10]

Sōjirō holds a deep love for his wife, Kanata Izumi, who passed away many years before. When Konata asks why Kanata chose to be with Sōjirō (largely as a joke at his erotic personality's expense), Sōjirō points out that he and his wife simply looked past outwards appearances: Kanata loved Sōjirō despite his otaku tendencies, and Sōjirō obviously did not mind that Kanata had an unusual physique and did not share his hobbies.
Kanata Izumi

Voiced by: Sumi Shimamoto (Anime, PS2 Video Game), Rebecca Forstadt (English, credited as Rebecca Olkowski)

Kanata Izumi (泉 かなた, Izumi Kanata?) was Konata Izumi's mother, who was also very short and bore a striking resemblance to Konata (minus Konata's ahoge, the catlike smile and the beauty mark under her left eye).[7] She is described by Konata and Sōjirō Izumi as having a personality straight out of a bishōjo game. She died when Konata was an infant of unspecified causes and her only appearances in the manga are through a single photograph and through Sōjirō's memory. Since she was Sōjirō's childhood friend, Konata has wondered if that was one of the main reasons why her mother married Sōjirō. In the animated version, Kanata returns to the Izumi residence as a spirit, and walks in on a conversation both Konata and Sōjirō were having about her. She is touched by Sōjirō's kind words that he was the only one who truly loved her as much as he did (she later realized that she too, loved him deeply), and even took a picture with him and Konata together. However, when Sōjirō and Konata look at the photo image in the camera, they are spooked at what appears to be a shadow standing behind them. Konata wants to delete the image, while Sōjirō wants to burn it, thinking that the family will end up cursed if they let it be, but Kanata pleads with them not to delete the picture to no avail, as no one can see or hear her.

Kanata's spirit seems pleased with how Konata was raised, despite being a bit unsure of Sōjirō exposing their daughter to erotic games, claiming that it could damage her "moral growth." However, she easily recognizes that Konata takes after her father, in both the good and bad ways, which leaves Kanata with a deep sense of relief. Sōjirō also states that Kanata died a peaceful death without any regrets, and that she left them both with a smile.
Yui Narumi

Voiced by: Chiwa Saito (Old Drama CD, NDS Video Game), Saori Nishihara (Anime, PS2 Video Game), Julie Ann Taylor (English)

Yui Narumi (成実 ゆい, Narumi Yui?) is Konata Izumi's cousin and Yutaka Kobayakawa's older sister. She is a very easy going female police officer for the Saitama Prefectural Police Department who acts before thinking. She is a bit of a klutz and is a meganekko. However, she has a tendency to exhibit road rage when she is behind the wheel (but, incidentally, shows incredible skill, as a street racer, much in the same vein of Initial D's Takumi Fujiwara).[9] Yui has a well-rounded face, a large forehead, a catlike smile similar to Konata's and straight, short hair. She isn't into fashion that much, and after getting married, Yui left behind her maiden name, Kobayakawa. However, her husband is out of town most of the time during the series, so she frequently visits Konata's house, mainly as a distraction, seeking to play her video games and read her manga. Usually, Yui will come over to Konata's home very late at night while drunk. A running gag in the series is that Nanako Kuroi is oblivious to the fact that Yui is married. She drives a blue Subaru Vivio in the anime.
Kiyotaka Narumi

Voiced by: Nobuyuki Kobushi (Anime)

Kiyotaka Narumi (成実 きよたか, Narumi Kiyotaka?) is Yui Narumi's husband and Konata Izumi's cousin, by family. He is currently away and his only appearances throughout the series was through a phone conversation with his wife. His name, the fact that he is away working, and the fact that Yui is a cop could be a Spiral: Suiri no Kizuna homage since in Spiral, the main's character's older brother shares the same name and left his wife for work.
Hiiragi family
Tadao Hiiragi

Voiced by: Tōru Furusawa (Anime), Richard Epcar (English)

Tadao Hiiragi (柊 ただお, Hiiragi Tadao?) is the father of the Hiiragi family and has short black hair. He works as the priest of the Takanomiya Shrine (Washinomiya Shrine). Hiiragi family members (from left to right): Kagami, Matsuri, Tadao, Inori, Miki, and Tsukasa.
Miki Hiiragi

Voiced by: Kikuko Inoue (Anime), Peggy O'Neal (English)

She is a college student[3] and a miko at the Takanomiya Shrine.[31] She tends to be less dependable than Inori when helping their younger twin sisters with school work.
Takara Family
Yukari Takara

Voiced by: Mami Kosuge (Anime, PS2 Video Game), Bridget Hoffman (English)

Yukari Takara (高良 ゆかり, Takara Yukari?) is Miyuki Takara's mother, who tends to be very well-mannered, but can be a bit of a klutz. She is warm and friendly, once talking with a telemarketer for over an hour,[10] and has a mischievous sense of humor. Yukari's hair is short and unlike her daughter, she does not wear eyeglasses. She doesn't like to do household chores,[1] which explains why she isn't very skilled with household items. On one occasion, she thought that a colored candle was a popsicle. Yukari is often mistaken for Miyuki's "big sister", rather than mother proper,[1] due to her youthfully cuddly appearance, which, combined with her adorably cheerful personality and endearing clumsiness, has resulted in her being regarded as moe, a trait not common for women in anime in their thirties.
Other characters
Nyamo

Nyamō (にゃもー, Nyamō?) is a mysterious creature that looks like a cat head with a tail. He is handled as a self-portrait of the creator, Kagami Yoshimizu.
Hinata Miyakawa

Voiced by: Mamiko Noto (NDS Video Game and Extra Drama CD), Yukiko Takaguchi (Anime, PS2 Video Game)

Hinata Miyakawa (宮河 ひなた, Miyakawa Hinata?) is a young girl with long salmon pink hair, which she ties just a bit to the left of her forehead with a rabbit clip; she has pink droopy eyes and is a meganekko. She makes a living through a job at a local dōjin shop. However, she remains poor, as all her money is spent on manga and dōjinshi.
Hikage Miyakawa

Voiced by: Yukari Tamura (NDS Video Game and Extra Drama CD), Yui Kano (Anime, PS2 Video Game)

Hikage Miyakawa (宮河 ひかげ, Miyakawa Hikage?) is the younger sister of Hinata Miyakawa and is in the fourth grade; she is the youngest character in Lucky Star. She attends the Sakura-en Public Elementary School, and is in class 4-1. She is not an otaku like her older sister, and as such carries the typical tsundere personality. Hikage lives in poverty because of her older sister and wants to grow up so she can get a job on her own; ironically, though, her dream is to eat meat. It is also because of her poverty caused by her sister that she starts to have distaste over otaku. Hikage likes to play gachapon, shopping, and travelling. Hikage's appearance in the game has her with long light-purple hair; her hairstyle is distinctive, as she thinly braids her hair to the right, and uses that as a ribbon to tie her remaining hair. Her eyes are light blue and are slanted upward. Her appearance is a little different in the anime and manga, as she has short, blue hair instead of long, purple hair.
Guests
Meito Anizawa

Voiced by: Tomokazu Seki (Anime, Radio, PS2 Video Game), Lex Lang (English)

Meito Anizawa (兄沢 命斗, Anizawa Meito?), also known as Anime Tenchō, is the manager of the Animate Ikebukuro shop (However, he appeared in the (old) Ōmiya shop and the comic market booth in the Anime and appeared in the Akihabara shop in the PS2 Video Game), he was originally the mascot of Animate and Hero of Anime Tenchō.

He and his staff consider Konata their most valued customer, known as "Legendary Girl A" (伝説の少女A, Densetsu no Shōjo A?),[15] and go to great lengths to sell their merchandise to her, often to the point of using espionage and military-style strategies, and at one point, Meito himself uses "Geass" on Konata to persuade her to buy a DVD from him; however when she tries to pay it, she fell short only three yen.[32] Their attempts usually fail miserably.[15][32] His appearance is heavily stylized, compared to the other characters, and he is known for his passionate yelling and highly energetic movements and poses. He appeared as a special guest during the Lucky Channel segment in episode seventeen, during which he and Minoru parody Mobile Fighter G Gundam's Domon Kasshu, referencing the fact that Meito's voice actor also played the character. He also appeared in episode twelve, fighting against another sales manager (about how valuable "so-called leftovers" can be after they ran out of rare and limited edition "thingies") in a dramatic way. Meito's colleagues at Animate are all similarly enthusiastic about selling their merchandise. In 2002, Gainax produced a single original video animation, where Meito Anisawa and his fellow employees are the focus.[33]
Lamica Hoshii

Voiced by: Miki Nagasawa (Anime)
